Decaturish contributors launch new writing ventures

DECATUR, Ga. — Two Decaturish contributors, Ralph Ellis and Sara Amis, are embracing new creative chapters with their latest literary projects, a debut novel and a poetry chapbook.

Ellis no longer contributes to Decaturish, while Amis still occasionally freelances for the publication.

For both writers, their latest work marks a turning point, linking their years of journalism experience to achieving their creative goals.

Their focus on creative writing reflects a lasting commitment to storytelling informed by years spent reporting on their communities.

Trading suspense for satire

Ralph Ellis, a seasoned journalist and now a newbie novelist, has spent decades covering everything from sewer regulations to hubcap thefts. His goal with fiction is to turn those hours, days and years he spent grinding out stories into something entertaining and comedic.
