WBL Announces Leadership Transition: Petra Orquiola Named Managing Partner

Longtime Partner Takes the Helm as WBL Reaffirms Its Commitment to Independence, Excellence, and Values-Driven Leadership

Atlanta, GA — WBL is pleased to announce a change in firm leadership as part of the firm's strategic succession planning. Effective October 1st, as selected by the WBL Partner Group, Petra Orquiola assumed the role of Managing Partner, succeeding Bruce Benator.

Orquiola has been a valued member of the WBL team for 20 years and has served as a partner for the past decade. Throughout her tenure, she has been instrumental in building WBL's audit practice and providing firm-wide leadership. Her deep experience and collaborative work with Bruce Benator over the years have laid a strong foundation for a seamless transition.

Benator served as Managing Partner since 1999, guiding WBL through decades of growth and recognition. Under his leadership, WBL became known for exceptional client service and has been honored as a "Best Firm to Work For" for 13 consecutive years. Benator will continue to serve as a partner, remaining actively involved in the firm and supporting Orquiola during this transition.

"We are incredibly grateful for Bruce's steady and insightful leadership," said Steve Horn, Tax Planning & Compliance Services Practice Lead. "Petra's appointment marks an exciting new chapter for WBL, and we are confident in her ability to lead us forward while maintaining the values and excellence our clients and team expect."

Orquiola's journey with WBL began as an intern after completing her undergraduate degree in only three years at Georgia State University. From the start, she focused on opportunities and equity in the industry. That drive, combined with the firm's supportive culture, helped shape her path. As a working mother of two daughters, she has experienced firsthand the flexibility and encouragement that define WBL's team-oriented environment.

Orquiola shared, "I am honored to step into the role of Managing Partner and continue the legacy of leadership that Bruce has built. WBL is a special place defined by our commitment to our clients, our people, and our values."

WBL was recently named one of Accounting Today's Best Firms for Women, ranking #5 nationally. This honor reflects WBL's commitment to creating a workplace where all associates can thrive. The firm's culture of mentorship, flexibility, and support continues to be a cornerstone of its success and a key driver of its client service excellence.

Benator said, "It has been a privilege to serve as the Managing Partner for over two decades. I am proud of what we have accomplished together and excited to support Petra as she takes on this role. Her leadership, integrity, and dedication to our clients and team make her the ideal person to guide WBL into its next chapter."
