Fraud Alert - Planning & Zoning

Dunwoody, GA – November 26, 2025 – Fraud Alert! We’re investigating a series of fraudulent emails sent to residents and businesses with planning-related applications filed with the City of Dunwoody. These include zoning and variance cases, as well as special administrative permits. The emails request payment by electronic wire transfer. This is a RED flag. The City never uses wire transfers for these matters. Another clue – the emails are coming from the Planning Commission, which typically does not send direct correspondence. In addition, the email is sent from an address ending in “usa.com” and is not a valid City email address. Please DO NOT OPEN the invoice attachment or wire any funds.
