Dunwoody Police Chief warns of fraud

Dunwoody, GA – May 20, 2025 – In a new video posted on social media, Dunwoody Police Chief Mike Carlson is sounding the alarm on a surge in sophisticated scams that are targeting residents of all ages, with financial losses mounting into the hundreds of thousands of dollars in recent weeks.

“We’re investigating more cases of sophisticated online and telephone scams,” said Chief Carlson in a video message shared by the Dunwoody Police Department. “The target? It’s often older people, but really — all ages are vulnerable.” Please read more here.
