Inventory Specialist
Job Summary
GoTo Foods is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Inventory Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for working with and supporting inventory levels within our third-party distribution network to ensure support for overall supply chain operations. This role involves daily review of inventory reports, collaborating with cross-functional teams and working with third-party vendors to improve inventory availability and long-term inventory management processes.
Essential Functions
- Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels across vendors and third-party distribution warehouses, ensuring adequate stock to meet the daily demands of GoTo Foods' concepts.
- Issue Resolution: Identify, investigate, and resolve inventory variances, allocations, and compliance issues in a timely manner to maintain continuity of supply while maintaining lowest delivered cost.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze inventory data to identify trends, issues, and areas for improvement. Prepare and present regular reports on inventory performance, including out of stock issues, order fulfillment accuracy, and overall inventory health.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements related to inventory control, storage, and distribution. Work with management to implement strategies for reducing stockouts, overstock, and/or financial liabilities.
- Order Management Support: Collaborate with Supply Chain Managers, Logistics, Distribution and Procurement teams to ensure inventory levels meet demand forecasts and replenishment needs. Assist in tracking late or critical purchase orders, purchase order revisions, backorders, and ensuring timely delivery.
- Inventory Systems: Utilize inventory management software and other systems to track and update inventory levels and analyze data. Provide training and support to team members on inventory control systems and tools.
- Compliance & Safety: Work with Quality Assurance to ensure inventory management processes comply with company policies, regulatory standards, and safety guidelines. Maintain proper storage practices to safeguard products from damage or loss.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Procurement, Distribution Logistics, and Supply Chain Managers to streamline inventory processes, resolve discrepancies, and support operational efficiency.

Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or related field (preferred).
Work Experience
- 2+ years of experience in inventory control, supply chain, or warehouse operations.
Skills & Abilities
- Strong knowledge of inventory management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively with internal teams and external vendors.
- Critical thinking skills and the ability to resolve inventory discrepancies efficiently.
- Familiarity with Lean principles or continuous improvement methodologies (preferred).
