Position Overview
The Marketing & Communications Intern will be learning from, and working with, the Chamber’s Marketing and Communications Manager, while being managed by the President and CEO. This role will facilitate the creation and execution of best practices, strategies and plans for leveraging all communication and marketing platforms. This is a paid internship ($15/hour) with a minimum of 15 hours per week and maximum of 20 hours per week.
Duties and Responsibilities
Working with the Marketing & Communications Manager, write, design, film, and produce a variety of digital and print-ready content for platforms including, but not limited to:

Social Media

Websites
-
Email Campaigns and Newsletters
-
Press Releases
Assist in the analysis of social media, website, and email performance metrics
Create messaging and promotional content for all Chamber platforms (with a heavy focus on social media platforms) on topics including:

Chamber membership value proposition

Chamber programs & events
-
Member/Partner news
-
Timely and relevant business opportunities
Take photos and record video at Chamber programs and events to build marketing and communication assets
Participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions
Qualifications
We seek internship candidates who
-
Are pursuing an associate or bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, or similarly integrated disciplines

Demonstrate excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills with the ability to alternate between styles and tones easily

Can multi-task and produce high-quality work under tight deadlines
-
Are verified as proficient in Microsoft suite of productivity applications, as well as Canva
-
Have flexible work availability to be able to attend Chamber events outside of normal (9 am – 5 pm) business hours when possible

Identify as a self-starter, able to work independently with an entrepreneurial spirit
