Conservatory Faculty (Contractor)

POSITION SUMMARY City Springs Theatre Company is seeking qualified teachers to serve as faculty for the newly created conservatory programs. Potential candidates will have experience in the fields of vocal instruction (group and private), acting, dance, and technical theatre and be available to teach weekly and semester-long classes. A college degree in theatre, voice, dance, technical theatre, or education required. Master’s de gree preferred. Classes are currently offered for students ages 10-18. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Professional experience as a performer or teacher in musical theatre dance, vocal coaching, act ing, playwrighting, or theatre improvisation. • Ability to inspire and connect with students at the middle and high school grade levels. • Ability to efficiently manage large groups of students, while maintaining order and creativity in a classroom setting. • Ability to develop lesson plans and curriculum outlines for classes taught. • Commitment to providing high quality arts training with a focus on skill development in a class room setting. • Knowledge of appropriate material for middle and high school grade level students with respect to songs, monologue, dance genres, and movements. • Ability to develop creative content for students in a daily or weekly class schedule. PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS The successful candidate will have: • Degree in Musical Theatre, Theatre, Music, Arts Education, Vocal Performance, Technical Thea tre; Master’s degree Preferred • Three (3) years professional experience working as a teacher in an arts education organization • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in oral and written forms. • Strong dedication to established work commitments. • Consistent weeknight and weekend availability. • Strong collaborator, creator, and team player. • Highly organized, flexible, collaborative, motivated, and a fast learner • Attention to detail in paperwork and process-oriented ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS This position also requires an individual who is: • Committed to the mission of City Springs Theatre Company • Self-motivated, honest, thoughtful and composed • While exceptionally detail-oriented, can also focus on large concepts and strategic issues • Able to navigate through diverse and sometimes competing priorities • Collaborative and collegial in work relationships
