Description
6th Annual STE(A)M Showcase - From STEM to STEAM!
Each year, since 2011, Sandy Springs Education Force brings our community together to experience the compelling and multi-faceted world of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math). For the past three years, SSEF has collaborated with STEM Program Partner, Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI). Our STEM initiatives have been an overwhelming success, and have resulted in being named two years in a row as the WINNER of the Technology Association of Georgia STEM Education Award for Extracurricular Programs for our 2014 Future of Energy and our 2015 Communication Technology STEM Events.
This year’s 2016 Showcase adds a new element to STEM: the ARTS! Arts education is a key to creativity, and creativity is an essential component of innovation. And, of course, innovation is necessary to discover and transform new industries for the future! Once again, SSEF will engage our community leaders, businesses and educators to inspire our students to pursue academics and careers in this important area. With GTRI and new partner, Atlanta Science Festival, we will feature exciting hands-on exhibitions and career connections at both North Springs Charter High School and Riverwood International Charter School. Our STE(A)M Outreach Program will also bring captivating opportunities to all of our 11 public schools.
We hope you will join us to ignite the dreams of our future workforce!
