Mid-year pay raise strengthens Dunwoody Police
Dunwoody, GA – June 26, 2025 – In a continued effort to support law enforcement and public safety, the City of Dunwoody will implement a 4.9% mid-year pay increase for police personnel effective July 1, 2025. The raise, approved by the Dunwoody City Council in October 2024, reinforces the City’s commitment to maintaining a high-performing and well-supported police force.
“Public safety remains the highest priority for Dunwoody’s Mayor and City Council,” said City Manager Eric Linton. “Year after year, that commitment is reflected in our budget. Compensation is a critical piece of the overall package that ensures Dunwoody Police remains competitive in hiring and retaining high-quality officers.”
With the increase, base salaries for Dunwoody Police officers will range from $62,301 to $99,682, which includes additional pay available for officers with college degrees. New hires are also eligible for a $15,000 signing bonus, which is distributed over time.
Dunwoody Police also benefit from a robust and comprehensive package that includes:
- Take-home vehicle program
- $800/month housing stipend for living within city limits
- 100% city-paid employee medical and dental coverage beginning on the first day of employment
- 90% city-paid family medical coverage also starting on day one
- Employer retirement contribution up to 21.2%
- 100% city-paid life insurance, AD&D, and short/long-term disability insurance
- Up to $4,000/year in tuition reimbursement
- 15 paid holidays annually
- $2,500 specialty pay for SWAT operators
- $4,000/year specialty pay for CID, K-9, Crime Response Team, and Community Outreach roles
These benefits are paired with a highly supportive work environment.
