Dunwoody, GA — The Veronica Blount Memorial Foundation proudly announces the 15th Annual Red Shoe Lunch, taking place on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at the Hyatt Villa Christina in Dunwoody, Georgia. This signature event, held during National Heart Health Month, raises awareness about heart disease, the leading cause of death for men and women worldwide.
The Red Shoe Lunch began 15 years ago when founder Tee Blount invited seven friends to lunch to honor her late mother, Veronica Blount, who passed away from heart disease at the age of 46. The inaugural event, held on February 26, 2011—what would have been Veronica’s 56th birthday—marked a heartfelt mission to support heart health awareness. Since then, the event has grown exponentially, attracting hundreds of attendees, many donning red shoes to symbolize the cause.
Initially supporting the American Heart Association, the Red Shoe Lunch shifted its focus in 2022 when Tee Blount founded the Veronica Blount Memorial Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to addressing heart health disparities in underserved communities. The foundation’s mission includes ensuring every household has access to a life-saving blood pressure monitor. Over the past year, the foundation has distributed hundreds of monitors to those in need.
