DESCRIPTION:Join the Sandy Springs RAFT TODAY!!!\n\n\n\n\n\nMake a big splash at the coolest event this summer\, the Seventh Annual Summer Splash! Float in a kayak\, canoe or raft and beat the heat in your six-mile journey of discovery down the Chattahoochee River.\n\n \n\nYour River Journey\n\nWith daytime temperatures heating up\, Summer Splash offers a day of cool relief. Paddle and drift past the river's natural grandeur\; witness a great blue heron in flight or the riffles of a river otter swimming. Plan on your river journey taking approximately 3 hours\, depending on the rivers current and how much time is actually spent paddling! After completing the float enjoy an afternoon of music\, food\, and fun for the entire family at the Powers Island festivities.\n\nShuttle Bus\n\nTwo shuttle bus routes will operate during the Summer Splash. The shuttle bus transporting boaters from the MEAG Power parking lot to Morgan Falls Dam will operate from 9 a.m. to noon. The shuttle bus transporting boaters from Powers Island back to your vehicle at the MEAG Power parking lot will operate from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Missing the last shuttle to your vehicle will result in a half mile walk\, don't miss it!\n\nBoat Renters\n\nOnce you have registered for the Summer Splash make arrangements to rent a canoe\, kayak\, or raft from one of the parks authorized outfitters. Make your boat reservations early! On the day of the Summer Splash you must park your vehicle at the MEAG Power parking lot\, 1470 River Edge Parkway\, Sandy Springs (map)\, and catch the free shuttle bus to Morgan Falls Dam. The outfitter will meet you at Morgan Falls Dam and provide you with a boat\, paddles\, and U.S. Coast Guard approved Personal Flotation Devices (PFDs). Upon completing the Summer Splash please clear the boat landing area as quickly as possible returning your rental equipment to the outfitter at Powers Island! Relax and enjoy the activities at Powers Island before catching the free shuttle back to your vehicle.\n\nBoat Owners\n\nBring your boat\, paddles\, U.S. Coast Guard approved Personal Flotation Devices (PFDs)\, and any other items you plan on taking with you to Morgan Falls Dam (map). After dropping off any passengers and your equipment at Morgan Falls Dam park your vehicle at the MEAG Power parking lot\, 1470 River Edge Parkway\, Sandy Springs (map)\,and return on the free shuttle bus. The last return shuttle to Morgan Falls Dam is noon and there is no parking at Morgan Falls Dam!
