SUMMARY:Open House for N. Shallowford Path project
DESCRIPTION:The City of Dunwoody will hold a Public Information Open House to gather community feedback on the proposed N. Shallowford Path project.\n\nThe N. Shallowford Path is a proposed 0.8-mile shared use path that will run along North Shallowford Road from Chamblee Dunwoody Road to Cotillion Drive. The project will improve bicycle and pedestrian access in the area\, incorporating features such as wayfinding signage\, decorative pedestrian lighting\, and enhanced landscaping.\n\n"This project reflects our commitment to connectivity\, safety\, and a more walkable Dunwoody\," said Dunwoody Public Works Director Michael Smith. "We look forward to gathering input from the community as we shape the final design."\n\nIn 2020\, the City completed an initial segment of shared use path along North Shallowford Road that connects to the Georgetown Gateway project. The current proposal builds on that progress with new federal and local investments. In January 2025\, the City was awarded $400\,000 in federal funding for design. This is in addition to $560\,000 previously allocated by the Atlanta Regional Commission through the federal Surface Transportation Program Urban\, which would be matched by city SPLOST funds. The project will follow all federal requirements\, with construction anticipated in 2029.\n\nAttendees at the May 13 Open House will have the opportunity to speak with project team members\, review plans\, and provide feedback. Comment cards will be available at the event\, with an online version available using this link.\n\n\n\nPosted by CHA
