DESCRIPTION:The Art Institute of Atlanta would like to announce their opening of their new Fashion Design Program!\n\n\n\nThe Fashion Design program at The Art Institute of Atlanta is a full-time program in fashion design leading to a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. The program offers students the opportunity to transform creative talent and principles of design into garments and accessories. Inspiration for tomorrow's fashion trends depends on the study of modern artists\, ancient costumes\, trends in society and youth culture.\n\n\n\nStudents are introduced to sewing\, tailoring\, flat pattern drafting and draping to provide a solid foundation of apparel engineering. Design courses emphasize the principles of aesthetics\, drawing\, illustration\, color theory and idea generation. Courses integrate a foundation of technical\, research\, marketing and business competencies in addition to an emphasis on design. Students experience both traditional and technology rich pattern drafting and designing skills.\n\n\n\nThe bachelor's degree in Fashion Design includes 12 quarters of program core courses and general education courses including specialized instruction in courses such as Fundamentals of Patternmaking\; Technical Drawing\; Advanced Sewing Techniques\; Fashion Drawing\; Event & Fashion Show Production\; Trends and Concepts in Apparel\; Business Ownership\; Senior Collection Concept and Senior Collection Production.
