DESCRIPTION:Conversation about COVID-19 in Children with Children's Healthcare of Atlanta with guest speaker\, Dr. Matt Linam.\n\n \nMatthew Linam\, MD\, joined Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and Emory University as Associate Professor in 2017. He completed his internship and residency at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center\, where he also served as chief resident. He remained at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center for his fellowships in pediatric infectious diseases and quality improvement.\n\nDuring fellowship training\, Dr. Linam performed research to understand risk factors associated with pediatric spinal fusion surgical site infections. He also led quality improvement projects to improve healthcare worker hand hygiene and adherence to contact precautions.\n\nDr. Linam's passion is improving the quality and safety provided to children with a special focus on preventing healthcare-associated infections. Through his previous work\, he has led institutional projects to improve the hand hygiene behavior of healthcare workers\, families and visitors\; increase healthcare worker influenza vaccination rates\; and reduce healthcare-associated viral respiratory infections. Dr. Linam has also designed and led quality improvement training courses to help provide healthcare workers with the necessary skills to improve the quality and safety of the care they provide.\n\nIn his spare time\, Dr. Linam enjoys soccer\, outdoor activities\, reading and spending time with his wife and their three children.
