DESCRIPTION:GREGORY W. KENNEDY SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT \n\nWORLDPORT OPERATIONS  \n\n\nGregory W. Kennedy is Senior Vice President - Worldport Operations for Delta Air Lines in Atlanta\, Georgia\, and is responsible for the largest single airline hub operation in the world including all of Airport Customer Service and Cargo handling. Greg and his capable team oversee Delta's Atlanta operation with approximately 1\,000 daily flights and over 7\,000 employees.  \n\n\n\nKennedy began his career in 1985 as a part-time ramp agent for Western Air Lines in Salt Lake City while attending the University of Utah\, and ultimately joined Delta in 1987 with the Delta-Western merger.  Kennedy has spent his entire career in Delta's major hubs\, ATL\, CVG and SLC\, moving from the ramp to positions of increasing responsibility throughout the years.  \n\n\n\nIn 2000\, Greg was given the responsibility of Delta's second largest hub at the time   Cincinnati. In 2003\, Kennedy was then promoted to Vice President - Atlantic Southeast Airlines\, where he was responsible for the day-to-day operational performance of the airline\, customer service and employee relations at the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta.  During his tenure with ASA\, many technology\, employee and customer milestones were reached as a result of his leadership.  \n\n\n\nIn August 2004\, he was promoted to Vice President of Airport Customer Service   West in Salt Lake City\, Utah where his leadership was instrumental in the development of 55 Delta domestic airports and the restructuring of the DFW hub.  In 2005\, he returned to Atlanta as Vice President of Airport Customer Service   Atlanta and was promoted to Senior Vice President in September 2013.  Since taking over the reins at the Worldport\, customer service and operational performance have gone from last to first   not only in the industry but among the other Delta hubs as well.  \n\n\n\nGreg is a mentor in Delta's Diversity Council Mentoring Program as well as Delta's RISE (Realizing Individual Standards of Excellence) Program and was named RISE Mentor of the Year in 2008-2009. He also serves on the Board of Governors for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals and the National Advisory Board for the University of Utah's Eccles School of Business.  \n\n\n\nKennedy is well known among his peers and employees for his engaging and visible style of leadership\, his winning attitude and commitment to his family and job.  \n\n\n\nA native of Shelley\, Idaho\, Kennedy attended the University of Utah and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Business Management\, with an emphasis in Human Resource Management.  Kennedy and his wife\, Pam\, have four children\, Joshua\, Meagan\, Jaclyn\, and Trevor\, and six grandchildren.
